Just a thought about PTC "offers"

For those of you that do these and whip out your credit cards to pay the 1.00 here and 4.99 there, where are you making money? By the time you add interest to your purchase, not to mention the contracts many of these things require, where are you making money? I'm talking about the Columbia House, BMG, Netflix... etc one that want you to buy something upfront. Sure you get good money from the site, but doesn't it eventually get piddled away with credit charges and having to continue to order stuff? I'm picky about what I sign up for, simply because I really don't believe in credit cards. Never owned one and prolly never will unless I get one of those prepaid ones. I just wondered about that.

On the websites that offer these type of offers the only ones that are good to sign up are the free ones that require no credit cards. However, what I have done is used an email that is not my main one because these offers fill your inbox with spam. This is a good site that has lots of free offers that don't require a credit card: http://www.fusioncash.net/?ref=elpresidente

I'm already there and made alot. Hopefully it grows, but I'm about done now and I'm needing another source with different offers and loads of freebies.

You are so right on that one! That was something that I myself dabbled in. Now I am in clean-up mode - meaning sending stuff back, making sure the CC is credited. Ugh what a pain!

I'm skeptical and critical by nature, so when I see these things, I have to ask if they are worth it, and it sounds like my judgement is right. And the thing that makes me most upset is because that money is the money that gets you to cash out. If you only go with the freebies, its not enough to cash out. Kind of stinks.

Yes they can end up costing you if you don't wacth what you are doing. You need to read the terms and make sure you don't have to be a member for a while. There are some that you can get a free month trial or a month trial for $1. You need to make sure you cancel before the trial is up! You usually have to call and cancel. Read the terms. Use a debit or your paypal card. Not a credit cadr that you will be charged interest. If there is something I want to join I will look at these sites to see if I can get money for what I am going to sign up for anyway. You can buy a $30 visa card to use to sign up for these offers. That way there is no interest and they can't charge the card when the trial is up if you forget to cancel. I keep a list of the them and when I need to cancel by along with the number I need to call to cancel. It can make you some money fast. You just have to make sure to cancel!
