FAR BETTER THAN TROY..300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!!. the greatest sequence when the king as a young lad fights the beast and also , when he kicks the intruder into the well..

oh yeah! it's one of the best movies i've seen so far. if you like watching action movies with really hot acotrs(yummy bodies *wink*) then this is the movie for you.. i also like the way the blood spurts when they kill each other, lol.. pretty gore though.. but the story is really good. it's another "must-see"!

Oh, yes, Jemima. I'll definitely watch 300 because Gerard Butler is my boyfriend, oh how I love him LOL! I love all his movies--famous or not. I love his phantom a lot and watch it several times. I've also watched his Dear Frankie.

300 is absolutely nothing like Troy! Troy was one huge cliche', with absolutely nothing new artistically or as far as the script went. I had seen that same story so many times, and better acted.
300, on the other hand, takes a much more obscure story from Greek history and gives it a completely unique, mythic treatment.

Whoa. You got the comparison wrong because...
Just yesterday afternoon I caught Troy on Cinemax. It was my favorite myth-war movie until about four hours later when I watched 300 for the first time. Yes, it's another must-watch. But it's not just that: if you have to watch just a single movie this year, let it be 300. That makes it "THE must-watch movie of the year."
Troy was artistic, sure. The cinematography was great, sure. The plot was well written (precisely the reason why it's a literary classic), sure. The acting was okay, sure.
Now consider everything I've just said about Troy. 300 just does one better in every aspect of the film! Sure, they may not have Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, nor Orlando Bloom to boost their star appeal, but that's just it: it's not necessary, not at all!
Imagine a movie where every still frame can be taken out of the film and admired for the art in it.
And how about the movie quotes?
"Tonight... We dine in hell."
