we make .02 cents for every comment posted on the discussion we made!
I'm really confused on how Mylot calculate our earnings. First of all. earning is not my priority here however, I think I should earn what I deserve right? We should get paid here equally regardless of what's our purpose here. I mean I do post quality discussions and as much as possible I don't comment to a discussion where I could care less about it.
For a couple of weeks, I noticed that I don't get paid well on the discussion that I post with plenty of response. Responses ranging from 70-90 on one discussion. Those topic includes pap smear, ink refill, older or younger partner and looks or personality. I don't whine that much because I don't really know how does the payment goes here but the more I think about a quality topic...I think the less I get paid. I posted LOOKS OR PERSONALITY yesterday and had 70 responses when I opened it but so far my earnings for yesterdsy is .29 cents! Imagine that? And as far as I remember I also post at least 10-15 comments. If we should be paid .02 cents for every comment made on our discussion...from 70 responses that I get $1.40 plus the post I made to other users discussion.
Have you ever thought how we get paid here? Do you think we get paid equally or we get cheated too? It's just so unfair and sometimes it made me think if it's worth it to spend some of my time here even I get cheated.

First off, the earnings calculation algorithm of myLot is a big mystery and is meant to remain so.
But here are some things that I can share that I think aren't that much off target.
You get an average of 1 or 2 cents per response you make to the discussions started by others. You do not get paid if you add comment to a discussion you have already commented on. You also do not get paid when you make comments in your own discussion.
Further, my experimentation seems to suggest that the discussions you start do not really earn you a lot of money. That is, it is quite insignificant compared to the responses you make to others' suggestion. I have a good number of discussions with pretty decent responses so I think I am in a good position to comment.
I agree it is nice to start discussions that end up with many responses. It may do good for your rating which directly affect your earnings. But other than that, dollar-wise, it is quite insignificant.
If you don't mind the lack of variety, I think you can earn more if you simply spend 100% of your time responding to discussions started by others.
Disclaimer: I do not know the algo of myLot. I am saying this based on my experience and experimentation. Believe or disbelieve as you will. :P

Thanks for that explanation. I was wondering the same thing. Even in the short time that I have been here at mylot I've noticed a significant decrease in the daily earnings.
I had thought that a discussion which you started that garnered many responses paid the original poster slightly more, but will agree with you and your experience. I have spent time searching out for discussions that I find of interest and can respond to and find that the variety available is sufficient for the amount of time I wish to spend.
Do you think it matters how old a discussion is when your response is written? Would you expect the payout to be the same as one started today?

As for your questions, I am afraid I am as clueless. :/
If you get more responses to your discussions, I think you would be paid a bit more but I don't think it is that significant..
PS.: Thanks for best response! ^^

I have kept track of how many posts i do in a day.
I still come out to about 2 cents per post. I dont know if its because i write alot when i reply or because my discussions seem to get alot of response. but i see once again the staff must of slept in as i dont see any updates yet for today LOL

I never actually get 2 cents since I joined. I was told 1 cent for each response and picture. if i earn mor than 1 cent on average that's because I have two quite active referrals, it's not a lot but it's something
but even then if i posted less than 2 lines responses, my earnings will go down so then I always try to post more than 2 lines
