Please rate my web layout!

I am a web developer, but not a web designer so it has been slightly difficult for me to create a very nice web design. So I decided to create a simple layout and try to make it as pretty and accessible as possible, simplicity is the key of my site. Nothing too fancy and all since I could not do that yet ;-)
I need critics please, as an ordinary site visitor what looks bad in the layout? what other parts of it do you like?

I think the layout looks good.What I like more than the layout is that it's almost like my avatar,lol.Just kidding:-P. I also visited http://elijah.pinoguin.com/ What I would love to go through is the library,when you have the link active.Good Luck:)

Thank you for the review =) I guess we both like penguins :D The site will be setup as a community base for open source & for linux-supported hardware database for the Philippines, but I was thinking if maybe not just a single country...

Oh you are right about the penguins:).Yeah, it would be always good to open up to the world at some stage.Hope ya get there soon!
