Dude, you have just given me enough hope to live some more time till this movie releases. After a long time will get to watch a cinema on a legend, that also, portrayed by Depp. Just one word, AWESOME.

are you serious??? OmG that would be fabulous IMO...Not only is Depp a perfect candidate simply because he is SUCH a talented and versatile actor (much like Gary Oldman) but a film on Mercury is so needed LOL (I am a HUGE Queen fan and Freddie was brilliant as far as I'm concerned :D )

What I know about this film right now... Robert Deniro's production company is involved (Tribeca productions) and the film is considered in development. Essentially, this means it's early and could, or could not happen. Brian May, of Queen, has confirmed the film's in development and that Depp has been spoken to about potentially playing Mercury (though nothing is signed). Deniro has long been a fan of Queen and actually partially funded a stage show based upon their music. This story first surfaced, I believe, in December 2006. I've not heard an update since that time, but I've also not heard that it has been dropped. This seems like it could still be a possibility.

Man that would be a real double header for entertainment for me. I love both Queen and Depp and maybe I would get my wish to see Depp play the guitar.

Yes, I too, think it would be a WONDERFUL thing for this movie to be made. I hope they really put the effort into showing the true Freddie and Queen. I'm not sure how the film will do here in the U.S., i'm sure it will do great in the U.K., most other European countries and Latin America. Johnny Depp has proven to be a very versatile actor, and if picked to play Freddie, I think he can really do him justice.
