After heavy bleeding with my cycle for 6 months i ended up in hospital with extremely low iron levels which caused me to have what i thought was a heart attack. My heart went into overdrive , i wa so firghtened and thought i was going to die. My gyno said that i should try the Mirena iud, i dont need it for birth control only control of the bleeding which was happening for 21-24 hays a month. Have you had this ? Did you have any side effects at all ? Anything that you can suggest .

Actually before you deciding to take this pills, you should discuss many things with your doctor. If you know more about your body and your health means you are more in charge of your body which means it easier for the doctor to help you.
There will be changes in your menstrual bleeding patern (shorter, longer or none at all). Since Mirena is a hormone so you may experience things like nausea, bloating, headache, acne, and mood changes but some will go away after a few months. But there was no report on weight gain.
