Every time i see my doctor as soon as she looks at me she says that i am dehydrated. Apparantly she can tell by under my eyes and especially my toungue. Apparantly we are supposed to drink a minimum of 1 litre a day of water. Now when i actually got down to thinking about what i drink in a day i realised that mostly i drink cups of tea, my doctor tells me that only drinking tea can actually increase my dehydration due to the caffeine!! Remember being dehydrated can effect not only what you look like but your mental concentration, it can cause you to become lethargic and can really effect your everyday life.
So do you drink enough water???????

Right now, I am experiencing dry mouth so I think I am dehydrated. But guess what there's an article I read that dry mouth is an advanced and late sign of dehydration. Meaning I have been lacking water in my body without my knowing it. To keep being hydrated I have these two tips in mind especially when you hate drinking water.
1) If you are drinking coffee, tea or softdrinks (these are diuretic drinks that causes you to have frequent trips to the bathroom) you should also drink water equivalent to the amount of this drinks you consumed.
2) Spread the daily intake of water. Do not drink four or five glasses within a given hour. The best time to drink water is 30 minutes before a meal or two and a half hours after meal.
3) Drink two glasses in the morning upon waking up and another one or two glasses upon retiring.
I hope this helps.

I shouldn't be. I have water near me most of the time and I take it with me to drink consistently while working. I also count any soup I happen to have also as liquid refreshment. That gives me nutrients and water together. Green tea could fit your bill with the lesser amount of caffeine and it has polyphenols that could be a good thing for your body. Any herbal tea would be good to add for flavor. Good luck adopting more water based drinks into your life.

As a matter of fact a friend calls me "camel" because I drink a lot of water. Can't go to bed without drinking and the first thing in the morning when I'm not in a hurry to use the toilet is to drink water. I always keep a bottle of water beside my bed so I can easily grab it even when I'm in the middle of my REM cycle LOL! It sure is very important. I suggest that you also make it a habit.

Hey sweetpeas, you better start drinking more water because it's not good to be dehydrated. You can either drink water straight or with some juice/squash but your body really does need a certain amount each day. Water is also good for cleansing out your system so drink, drink, drink it my girl!!! Luckily I love to drink water, I prefer it to having squash, and I do feel better when I drink enough, and I cut down on my tea and coffee as they are both full of caffeine.

I don't drink enough. I am lazy about it. I didn't know about tea causing dehydration. This is a great post, with lots of info. Thanks for sharing it. I have rated you again with the ++ rating for it. Don't forget to rate us, and give out the "best response."

My doctor will tell me the same thing too. She thinks that because I am always in so much pain and so forth that I use up more water?? Any way, it will only add to ones pain and discomfort overall if you do not stay hydrated. Did you know that by the time you feel thirsty, you are already dehyrdrated?
