quest help

have you ever tried to help someone with quests, only to find they aren't ready? i have the quest cape, which is why i used to help people with quests (because i have done them all) but i found some people to be very annoying. one guy wanted to do lost city, it's an easy enough quest, and i reccomend anyone new to members does that one first, but this guy i was helping was a pain from start to finish! he needed me to be with him every step of the way, he didn't collect the items he needed himself, so i had to get them (things like an unstrung bow and bowstring for killing the tree spirit) he then didn't have the required crafting lvl to finish the quest off! i have had many incidences like this when helping other players, so i gave up helping. is this cruel do you think? i feel a little mean when i walk around and tell people no to helping with quests, but i feel that people just don't get themselves ready... and i think it's a waste of my time trying to help them as it takes too long getting them ready. anyone else had similar things happen to themin runescape?

Lol, I've never asked some1 help for a quest. I use the rs quests help OR I use the site "www.runehq.com" because i think this is the best site for helping u thoughout quests.

i did exactly the same thing up until recipe for desaster lol (as ever since then, i have done new quests as soon as they come out, and there aren't any guides up!)... last quest guide i used from hq was mournings end part 2! i really don't see the need to bug others to help me lol, so i don't see why people need to bug me! the only 2 times i have actually needed help have been shield of arrav and heroes! and that's because it is required!

I have similar problems all the time. As a moderator for several groups based on the game I'm constantly asked to help people out, either on a quest or by making stuff. Most of the time I'm happy to but I keep getting people asking for rediculeous stuff. Yesterday someone asked if could trade me 3k pure essence for 3k nature runes. Gez... I don't mind crafting them if people bring it to the alter while I'm there but I'm not doing all that running just to give them away. Essence is too easily mined for all that or the price people are asking for it. I also get people demanding I come make them a ring of wealth or something when I'm busy clear on the other side of the world. They get totally huffy when I tell them I'm busy and not going to use my runes to get there for such a small order just to have to tellie back. My kindness is getting sorely stretched.

i am a mod on an unoffical rs forum, and yes i get people asking me to do things just because they think "well she mods the forum, she will do it for me!" i have one guy who always asks me to charge his glories, on occasion i don't mind, as i just swat a couple of my charged for his uncharged, but if i am busy, or only have 1 or 2 carged in my bank, i tell him no, which gets all the little chat emotes like :(

No, I do not think in any way that is cruel, it is their fault they didn't look at the recommended levels before starting the quest.

I always ask if they have the required items or the required stats before I help them. I do hate it when after telling them what to do, they are still not doing it. I help people with quest by telling them what they need to do. I'm not going to accompany them. Some times I give them some food because they need high hit point restoring foods to finish the quest. I do hate high lvl (lvl 20+) beggars though. Its so easy to get money but they go around begging. Most of the time I just ignore those people. Sure they'll follow you, but its their problem. If I do get annoyed however I turn of the public chat till they go away.

yea i've had a couple people like that when helping people with quests, it's really anoying, especially because i'm level 90 and i'm still f2p, so most people at my level are at members, so i usually have a bunch of smaller levels comming up and asking me for stuff but i have nothing to give, i was just hacked like 2 weeks ago and lost 4mil, so now i barely have any money :(
