I use a credit card for almost everything I buy, groceries, gas, prescriptions, doctor bills, etc. The more I spend the more cash back I receive. I pay my balance in full each month.
I don't have to carry much cash or write out many checks. I save on checks and stamps too. I don't get carried away with it.
I don't having to go to the bank and I don't like writing lots of checks because I always get my checking account messed up when I start writing too many.

it is very convenient to use a credit card. this is perfect for those who are sure that whatever they charge to their credit card will always be within the bounds of the persons financial capability. yes, lalav, that's how i perceive you to be. a person who is very financially secure.

I basically buy everything with plastic. Not necessarily on credit, but with my debit card. I find that using my check/debit card lets me track much easier where every single cent goes as opposed to cash, where one day I have $30 and the next day I don't! I very rarely carry cash and if I do, it's under $10.

I hate cash.
Whenever I decide to use cash (which is when I'm buying something under $20) I wind up holding up the line because I'm opening one pocket to put the coins in so they're not rolling around, then I'm folding the cash to neatly slide in the side pocket, blah blah blah....
But if I don't do that, cash is everyone in my purse and it's even more of a pain to deal with later.
I prefer plastic!

Most of my expenditures goes straight on my Goldfish card, whenever I pay for petrol it is so much easier just to use my credit card. Food and clothes shopping also go straight on the plastic. The only time I use cash is when I buy lottery tickets. Even online purchases I use electronic cash like Paypal. I think one day that everything will switch to plastic and coins and notes will be phased out completely.

I think plastic is very dangerous - you can spend far too much using it, and then end up with huge debts of ever outstanding interest. I do have a credit card, for buying theatre and travel tickets online for example, or guaranteeing a Hotel reservation, but I tend to use cash or a debit card the reat of the time.

I always use cash. I never availed of any credit card at all. I fear that I might overspend, it will be very difficult to be covering up for overspending. It can become an easy habit. There are some people I know who are so used to having credit cards for all their transactions, and they end up always in credit month after month.

It depends on the value of the transaction. I prefer to use cash for all of my day to day purchases and in shops. Otherwise if buying online then I will use credit card. I try not to use my debit card under any circumstances because I think it is less secure, you are not covered if something happens or someone manages to steal directly from your bank account in the same way that you are with credit cards.
