What do you think of sonic weapon used?

In the daily newspapers today, I read about how certain quarters in the UK uses sonic weapon for dispersing loitering youths in certain areas. The sonic weapon utilizes some low frequency sound just like that we used to chase away mosquitoes.
My question is that is this move a health danger? Will there be any adverse effects on the children? What are yur views concerning this issue?

I think sonic weapon would affect our hearing capability.I think these would greatly affect our young ones.

If put to good use, I think sonic weapon of this nature is ok. I don't think the effect on health is very dangerous. Otherwise the authorities would not have allowed the usage of it. If it can do a good job, I think I would support the use of it.
