Why do good people have to suffer so much?

I have seen that people who are good at heart, honest and helpful have to suffer a lot in their lives. So much that they end up in a hopeless condition having nobody with them . On the other hand cheats and bad people live happily and have all the good things of life.
I have even seen that good people have shorter life spans.
When I was young I asked my mom about this and she answered that God also wants these good people around him and thats why he makes them die and come to him.
I am not satisfied with the answer . Can anyone help me out?

This is written in the Bible. You may look this up in Revelations or Apocalypse. If you read the entire book of the Revelations or Apocalypse (this is the last book in the Bible), you will be amazed at what will happen towards the end of the world. Then you will also know how it is going to end.
God shall choose who will be with Him in heaven. Would you believe that the ones who enter heaven have all been through difficult times, sacrifices and pains? Read on, and you will encounter the verses which contain the description of all those who enter God's Kingdom.
They are the people whom God will wipe away the tears from their eyes, from their faces. The people who have been through immeasurable agony and pain. God shall give them relief and reward them with life...evelasting life. After reading this, in no way will you wonder why those good people are suffering.

First, because the good people live in this sinful world. The world hates good people. That's why the good people suffer. And there is another reason, God uses suffering to mold and purify the good people. So, suffering is one of God's tools for the goodness of the good people. The good thing, suffering is not forever.

I totally agree with you.
I also have seen people who were so good at heart that they'll give their food to someone hungry but in the end they were the lone sufferers at their bad times.

Suffering is just a part of life. It depends on the situation you are experiencing right now. We all suffer from differrent things but those sufferings can somehow make us a better person. They are made to toughen us in our daily ventures in life.
Just make all the suffering you experienced as a steeping stone and not an obstacle. They will make you a better person if you do so.

bad people don't necessarily live happy lives. They just don't let things bother them. Good, God fearing people, believe in God and believe that what does not kill them only serves to make them stronger. It is hard to rationalize why, if God is such a wonderful being, he would let good people suffer. It is said that God does not give you more than you can handle. If not for the rough patches in our lives, or the bad that we face, we could not truly appreciate the good and wonderful things in life. The saying that only the good die young, well think of it this way, God doesn't want the evil, bad people, and Hell is probably way too crowded !!
