I use energy saving lightbulbs that use a fraction of the electricity of more conventional lightbulbs.
I get the bus instead of driving a car.
I buy food that is grown locally and not food that is imported from distant places.
I don't have a television.

television wont consum much energy according t my knowledge
its only consumes .2 KWH or 1 unit if used for 1 hour
so incase u doin it for energy conservation can switch to some thng else...
but good to see three responses for this topic

Showers are much more less energy consuming than baths, using energy saving lightbulbs, using public transport more than driving. Recycling as well.

airconditioners and water heaters (geysers ) are major loads in residential places so watch their effeciency and if its too old thn replace it with new more energy efficient applience

I turn all apliances off when they are not being used. I purchase energy saving lightbulbs and such like.

ya buyin cfl bulbs is a good option...which 1 do u buy
but cnt use them everywhere....
electronic chokes for our tubelights another good option....
