dowry a curse for girls

friends is takin dowry a right thing isnt it like doing a crime because the people who r not so rich use to kill theirn daughter on or before birth we must stop this crime by not giving dowry neither taking it

I agree with you. Dowries are truly a curse for girls and their families. It used to be a custom in many countries but not any more in Western countries. Women are freer and the idea that you can be bought or sold is not acceptable. I think people in countries where dowries still exist should try and abolish them, starting by giving their daughters a good education so they can support themselves and be able to choose husbands who will not insist on a dowry or stay single and provide for themselves.
