How many people have kept their New Year Resolutions?

We are nearly at Easter, and I wonder how many of us have kept any of our New Year Resolutions? What did you resolve to do, have you done it, have you fallen by the wayside, or are you just biding your time to do something totally new and out of this world?

Yes, well I made some resolutions for you, and I am, as you so often moan, a slave driver, so hurry up and complete resolution one so that we can move on to resolution two, the TV chat star! Anyone else wanting a life coach, let me know, if you can stand the pace lololololol

I decided to try and keep my temper and be a better mum, well I'm frazzled, the kids are destroying the home at every chance and I'm trying to be nice about it which is not working for me at any rate. Still the kids are happy so that's ok but they were happy before, lol. I also wanted to try and diet again or at least step up the healthy eating and although I'm eating healthily most of the time, we have had more take-away than ever due to the amount of extra work caused by my kids because I didn't yell but tried to reason, lol. I am now picking the healthier option on the take-away menu.

You are already a super Mum, so no worries there. It is unnatural to never shout, and I reckon your kiddies would be terrified by a permenantly calm Mummy, honest. I reckon the being a brilliant Mum is an ongoing day to day happening anyway, so you could try cutting the amount of areas you want to attack down into nice easy portions and I bet you would get there very fast. I always try to do one thing at a time and get the wretched thing out of the way. Oh, and I never make losing weight a resolution. So many different aspects make up weight that you could eat the regulation number of calories and still never reach your goal. Be happy and chase those kiddies, that will soon get rid of any extra pounds. Hope I have cheered you up :-)

My resolution was to loss a few things, and they were fat and financial debt. I have been working out and I have lost about 8 pounds and about 5 inches on my body. I also cleared one entire debt and 3/4 of another. I still have quite a ways to go on both but little my little I am getting there.

Way to go! I admire you so much. I hope you get rid of all the debt and as much of the weight as you want to. Hopefully you might post back when you reach your goal, and be an inspiration to others who are still struggling away but who have not got your determination.

Honestly, Marlyse, you have no imagination. Next year you could resolve to nag your son mercilessly unless he takes you to the shops every week without complaining. Now that I have started you off, I think you can probably come up with some more lolol. Good thing you live far away, as I don't think your son will be my number one fan! As to windsurfing in the wheelchair, hmmm I don't think that is in the guiness book of records yet, but would it be safe?

Nope..me either. I didn't make any resolutions. There is really nothing major that I wanted to change. Maybe I can pick up a bad habit this year and I can make a resolution for next year. That sounds like more fun to me. Well, maybe next year I will have a resolution for you as I am going to go look for a bad habit to start right now!!! lol

Mail me for some suggestions, I don't want everyone on Mylot led astray lololol. You could resolve to stop people taking advantage of your lovely nature though. Hmmm I shall try to think of some more.

That is sad. Have you tried making only one resolution, and then, if you break it, just start againa the next day and see how long you can go until the next time you break it? That way even though you may break the resolution a few times you will still be better off than if you had not tried at all?

We would say over here "You are a one!" lol. I actually believe you too. You are too busy to worry about resolutions, you just plough on in there and get the job done.

I don't make resolutions it goes with that old saying you shouldn't make a promise you can't keep. Then I won't be letting myself down

hmmm that is a very interesting concept. I go through hell and high water to keep a promise to someone else but my resolutions slip a little easier. I should try harder, then, I suppose. I do restart them though so I get some benefit through the year.

I didn't make any New Year's Resolutions this year. I couldn't think of anything that I wanted to change that I think I could keep. I figure why make a resolution that I know I can't keep. But there are many things in my life that I am trying to improve.

Exactly so! That is why I make simple resolutions I have a chance of keeping. However, the really bad ones, like losing weight I restart every time I pig out. Better than doing nothing lol.

Well, I can see how missing Gissi and Mum would make you comfort eat, but summer is coming now and you can fill yourself up on all the salad stuff. Even I can eat salad in summer. I am going to grow my own too, if I can keep the wretched birds inside and out off my plants! Trouble is I spoil both lots, with feeders for the outdoor mob. They still prefer my stuff though lol.
