Who are your modern day role models?

Unless you come from the planet Mars or don't have cable TV, you're probably aware that one of today's hottest shows on TV is Heroes. This show chronicles the lives of a bunch of ordinary people exhibiting extraordinary powers. What I'd like to find out is who do you consider a real life hero in this day and age? Are there any modern icons or celebrities you look up to or want to emulate? Personally, mine are Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie and Al Gore. I admire how they constantly raise awareness for their causes and how they use their celebrity status to help them aid this.
