I work during the week, and get off later in the evenings, therefore I have to do my grocery shopping and any other department store shopping during the weekends. Well yesterday, I said I was going to go grocery shopping, after I got my hair done, however, as I passed Walmart and the local grocery store it was packed. I decided I would get up early in the morning and go to both, trying to get in and get out before it becomes a madhouse, especially on the weekends.. This morning, I got up around 6:30am, modivated myself enough to go to Walmart and the grocery store. I tell you, my whole thought process about shopping around 10 or so in the later part of the mornings is done. never again..lol. I actually enjoyed going both places, wasn't crowded, it was rather peaceful and didn't have to stand and wait in line in either store...That experience alone moving forward will get me modivated to wake up earlier when I have to go again..lol So what about you, Are you a early riser or later on during the day type shopper? Do you go when you finally just have to and don't care what part of the day it is?

My wife works at Sam's Club. I take her to work at 7:00am. Next door is a Super Walmart. I grocery shop after I take her to work a couple of times a week. There is hardly ever anybody shopping and I never wait in line at the register more than one person. It's great!

Grocery shopping is a necessary evil, just like going to the dentist. You don't like doing it, but you have to do it. I used to be very organized about the whole process. I would make a complete list every week and go during my day off. I usually shop only once a week. I usually prefer morning because the crowds are not that bad. Since, I've changed jobs, my shopping habits have changed. Because of the hours I keep and the place where I live, I now do my shopping at night, as in around 9 pm or later. I still try to limit myself to one trip to the store. Still, shopping at night can be relaxing, and I sometimes dragged hubby with me, so it becomes a time for us to be together. Talk about dating at the grocery aisles. LOL!

heheheh awww that's cute....Love all over again..hehehe Yes, I know what you mean. My hours changed however, the last thing I want to do during the week before work is go grocery shopping. I will just stick to the weekend plan. Yes less crowds, I find myself able to really think about what I need, rather than looking to see how far back the lines are..lol

Usually I have a tendency to go shopping during the week or if need be it will be on Saturday morning right upon opening. I find that when the supermarket has a sale on the best time to go is the Saturday after the flyer comes out. That day is usually the first day of the sale anyways and that will be the best time for selection during the entire time the sale is on. This one supermarket that I have gone to recently.. I have found does not replenish their stock that often during the week. If I ended up going later on in the day I might miss something I could never get the rest of the week. It bothers me that they do things like this but I will usually try to look for the same item on sale at a different store. I also like the ability to go freely through the store without having to run into a gang of other people. I have that problem a lot if I go later on in the day and the store is busier. I don't like going down the aisle and having to worry about someone butting in front of me or me smacking my cart into someone else and hurting them. I like the freedom of going down the aisle and being able to see everything on the shelves easily instead of having to peer around someone else to check the price on an item. Basically it allows me a lot more freedom to move and see what I want when I want as opposed to having to worry about running into someone or missing out on a deal that was there earlier in the day. I find going early you can also get fresher cuts of meat and fresher produce than by going later on in the day. There is more of a selection during that time of the day than any other time I have noticed. I don't like that this one store has a tendency to run out of certain items over the course of one day and if I could change one thing it would be their ability to have enough of one item in stock. I would have a supply truck there every day dropping off fresh supplies so that everyone had a chance to get the best deals possible instead of having people race into my store all at one time to get those deals. There have been times where I have made the mistake of going shopping too late during the day and I have walked out of the store feeling like I did not get my money's worth. I have felt like I did not have enough time to do comparisons between products so I could get the best price. I like not being rushed when I go shopping and there have been a few times where I have not allowed myself enough time to do the shopping to the best of my ability. I consider myself a pretty darned good shopper who can maximize what I get for my dollar, I just need ample time to do that within. I would also like if sometimes the grocery store I went to had more of a variety of certain products. I have to go to other stores because this one does not carry certain things. I've gone and looked and found that there are items that really they do not carry at all and I do not understand why. I would have thought they would have carried everything you can get at another store but I was wrong. I don't know why this is, but if I ran the company, I would do things differently. In conclusion, I feel like it is a better idea to go shopping earlier in the day and usually during the first day of a sale. I think that way you can get the best selection and take advantage of everything that they have on sale. Otherwise you might not get a chance to get your hands on certain items because of the supply schedule the store has with it's warehouse. If anything, that is the one thing I would change about the supermarket I buy the majority of my groceries from! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

Thank you for sharing, I know what you mean, yesterday when I was at the grocery store, they were putting out fresh meat, breads and restocking, I felt good because I got first dibs on the meat, I was very happy for that

You are so very welcome. Thank you for allowing me to share. I know I used to not go grocery shopping in the morning but would wait until later on.. And sometimes you can still find things on the shelves.. Other times if you want to get the deals you have to go shopping early in the morning.. Or then when you go later on everything is picked over.. I also found if you want fresh meats or fresh baked goods.. The best times is to go in the morning.. As everything is so fresh tasting, & you end up getting some really good deals as well for high quality items.. I've found sometimes that when I've gone in the evening.. Some of the bread or baked goods have become crusty & hard.. It's gross. I've had to take things back plenty of times due to this reason. I know I've learned from my lesson of waiting until to late! Though it's difficult to always go grocery shopping in the morning.. But I try my best to do so quite honestly! . .

I am off from work on Monday's, so I try to go then. If I go during the weekend, it is very very crowded and takes me much longer.

i prefer to do it in the morning as the supermarket opens because of much less crowd therefore not difficult to line up at the cashier. and since much less people, i can move much easier as i look up for the things i need. in the supermarket i usually go to (coz it's near my place), opening is 10am but on fri, sat, and sun it's 9am.

I try to do my grocery shopping on the weekends. I don't really have a set time that I go. I just go whenever I'm finished doing everything else that I have to do. I hate going to walmart on the weekends though cause it's so packed so if I have to go there then I try to go later on during the evening or even late at night. Sometimes I go during the week and just get a few items if I need to though and if I do that then I go around 5 or 6pm whenever I get finished working.

I don't decide on a day , but do it when I need to.For me ,it's always the evening hours and I remember what I must get because I don't like the feeling of having missed out on something. When I am tired ,I just call the shop to deliver the items at my place.

I am a nightowl and would prefer to do my shopping late at night when there is less of a crowd. However with being a mom, those nightowl trips to the store just do not work well LOL I go to the store most of the time on Fridays when just hubby and I go (his day off) and the kids are in school or if that day is busy, we go on Saturday during the day (which has got to be THE worst time to go LOL).

I do grocery on a monday or a thursday after I left my office at night. There will be less people since most people already had their grocery during weekends. However, there's an exception on my schedule and I will avoid going to the grocery when payday falls on a monday or thursday. :)

I actually don't mind going there anytime or anyday since I've got nothing to do.. Bt it would also depend on the situation, if I want to get fresh groceries then I should go there early but if I'm not feeling well or too tired to go, might as well go there in the evening. As you mentioned, less lines and less people..

We usually go food shopping on Friday nights. Hubby works all week and I don't drive over here. Food shopping on the weekends is a nightmare. The stores don't stay open over here very long so it is better to do it after dinner. When I lived in Alaska, I used to shop at the early morning hours. Our food store was open 24/7, so I shopped at 2am, before my 2nd job started. Otherwise, I would go shopping on my lunch hour as it was only across the street. Things are so different over here.

We go shopping on 10 percent Tuesday (the first Tuesday of the month), the rest of the time on Wednesday and we shop at10 am because my husband's on afternoon shift. We like the weekends free and we only have one car.

we only have one car, so we have to do it on the weekends too- and it's always good to do it early. Walmart by us is great because it is a supercenter now. Food too. So if you get there before the crowds in the afternoon, it's not too bad, and you can get done what you need to and not waste the whole day!

Our usual time to do grocery shopping falls on weekends, particularly on Saturday afternoons. My sister and I don't wanna shop early in the morning because we wake up late in the morning. lol. =)

I usually go on Tuesdays. I drop the kids off at school, and then my youngest and I go shopping. It's about 8:30 when we get to the store. It's so nice, because it isn't crowded. The produce is also fresh. (Tues. is "truck day") At Walmart, they are usually stocking shelves, so it's very easy to find someone that can help you. hee hee! I find that the employees are also happier and more ready to assist than late afternoon (teenage employees by then.) I absolutely HATE shopping on the weekends, (when my hubby wants to go) because everything is so crowded and busy.

according to me....sunday is the best time to shop fr nething...coz during the week time it becomes so hectic tht there is no time fr shopping....thus sunday evening gets up as the best time fr shopping....hence usually go fr shopping during that period...thus it is the best time fr doin tht
