So today is Mothers day and I would like to wish all of you mothers on here a very happy day! We all know what a hard job it is being a mother so to have a day that is just for you should be something you all enjoy. Put your feet up, relax and be pampered by your family. Well, that's what they say should happen, but did it?? how did you spend your day??

there was nothing extraordinary about my day as the older children are in the middle of getting folders ready for exams and my daughter is bang in the middle of her teaching practice so was fully engrossed in that. I did get chocolates from her and a card from hubbie and a school made card from my youngest son with a beautiful verse inside as follows:
Sometimes I might upset you
Just because I'm small
By leaving fingerprints of mine
On a table, chair or wall.
But every day I grow a bit
And I'll be big some day
When all my tiny fingerprints
Have long been cleaned away.
So keep the prints of my two hands
To help you to recall
Just how big my fingers were
That time when I was small
He had his handprint on the card.
One to make us think isnt it? They dont be small for long so we had better make the most of it.
Hope you all had a lovely day.

I'm a little late but Happy late Mother's Day to you! I'm in the USA so we do not celebrate for another couple of months but I hope you had a nice day and were able to relax.
Mother's Day is bittersweet for me. I love that my son and husband pamper me and make me feel so very loved but I also miss my own mother so badly on that day. I try to go to her grave and leave flowers - and spend a little time there just thinking of her and talking to her in my heart and head. I often leave with tears in my eyes but that's o.k. .. it's my own way of cleansing my soul and accepting that she is gone.
Thankfully my son reminds me to appreciate day I have and to look forward without any regrets.
Hope you had a great day!

And many happy returns to you ginagee. I hope you had a very relaxing day as it is almost over now. I thought that I would be going out to dinner, but my son and his wife travelled all the way from County Cork to come to my house and cook dinner for me. They brought all the food with them and it was an absolutely gorgeous meal. I am now stuffed and just ready for bed.

Mothers Day is truly a special day. I am fortunate that I still have my mom around. I thank God everyday for her. Our Mothers Day here is in May. My kids normally send me to one of the local spas for half a day, and I really enjoy it. I am going to take my mom this year.

Well that is a nice sentiment Gina. Have to admit that personally I try to forget about Mother's Day because it reminds me of how much I loved my own Mum, and how much I stillmiss her. But I realise that is selfish - so I will join you in sending best wishes to all the MyLot Mum's on their special day.

Thank you Howard for your wishes. I had a strange mothers day. It started out alright I went swimming with my daughter and grand-daughter which was great fun, then when were home my daughter cooked a lovely big roast dinner forgetting that I wasn't able to eat anything!! I had a hospital appointment on the monday morning and was not able to eat because of tests I was having so I had the lovely aroma of a roast dinner cooking for hours with my stomach rumbling!! typical me!! but at least I got out of doing the washing up haha!
