Acting my age

I will be 38 later this year and sometimes feel that I don't act my age. Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. But I wonder if it is holding me back professionally. I did receive an ..."of the year" award last year recognizing me as best in class for my position in my company so it may not hurt me there. As for family, I have three young children and acting immature and silly is part of the parenting role. I guess acting this way is just part of my nature, but when can I tell that enough is enough?

old ladies - old ladies going shopping
Ha, ha....I don't act my age either. We live longer; we are healthier than our grandparents. People in 40 have a desire and act like old 25. People in 50 act and feel like old days 30. I have heard that life starts at 60....so new 60 is like 40... Ha, ha...please don't act your age....life is beautiful and we are at the beginning...:)

Thank you once again for such a colorful and bright reply. I also believe that acting young keeps me young at heart and really keeps me motivated in general in all aspects of my life. I'm in a good place :)

hahaha...same here, i'm 27 but sometimes i'm not acting like a real lady..i think it's not bad because if we become serious all the time, well, the lines in our forehead will as many as our hair..lol but sometimes, we need to be professional and mature specially talking to professional people..but when i'm in the house, i love to be cuddle by my mother though, i have already a kid..it's fun to act like an immature person sometimes...lol

I know...isn't it fun? :) I think it's so important to keep young at heart, especially when we have kids.

If you don't know or have not been taught about self control then I am concerned for you. If you need to ask if this is too far then normally it is. Am glad that you can have some fun with your children and they should love you for it. Your award was for doing well and as long as you continue and do not regress and better progess then you should also have nothing to worry about. Take care!

Yes, I pretty sure that I know my boundries and limits. It is fun acting out silly but when appropriate only. I try to be professional at work but also have fun as the culture there is very laid back. Thank you for the sincere concern.

Thank you. I hope I always keep my playful nature. I still remember playing catch (baseball) with my 75 year old grandmother when I was younger. It still amazes me to think that she was so active at that age.
