Mage Talent Tree?

Ok I have a question for all you WOW junkies. I started a mage a week ago and I'm trying to decide on what talent tree to take. I like all the crits on Fire. Arcane seems to reduce a lot of chances for resistances and what not and I just don't see what good Frost is. Let me hear your point of view on making my squishy tougher!

Usually I say if you're gonna go one tree it's good to find a build entirely in that tree, even if you get locked down because of a rogue's kick it's still going to be 10x stronger than if you just spread out between a few

Fire/Arcane build until 60, then switch to frost/arcane for the end-game. Frost is so much more versatile than fire and capable of just as much or even more damage (due to the utility of ice-block ditching agro off of mobs).
