Ours is a residential area with small streets. With lot of development going onin the city, old houses are being renovated and more floors being added. Opposite my house are two beautiful trees housing a lot of birds and i used to enjoy their sounds every morning. These trees were on the street and were not located in private premises. One of the trees was a bit bent and the owner of the house opposite the tree was aprehensive that it may fall one day. This may or may not be true, since believe trees have a strong root system which balances their outside structure, except when there is a hurricane. However, major part of the tree was cut off one morning by the owner. Again, opposite my house stays Ravi, and between both our houses is a really big blackberry tree. It housed some rare birds in season. Now Ravi's father expired a few years back and he struggled a lot to make it in life. Now, being successful,he was renovating his house and added two floors to it. During construction, the tree was becoming an obstruction and one morning,he just engaged labourers and cut off about 50% of the tree, leaving it barren. Please give your comments on the above incidents which have affected me emotionally, though I could not react given the circumstances under which the trees were cut.

the last snow... - The Spring sun is putting the final touches on the end of winter.
I think it is so sad because it takes so many years to develop really nice trees. It is like destroying part of history. So now you get to look at more man made and less made my God.

If the tree was not on private property, it's debatable whether he had a legal right to cut down the tree at all. On the other hand, if it's essentially no man's land, I don't know that there's anything saying that he -can't- cut it down. It's sad that it happened though, especially for the birds that used the tree as a habitat.
