Can you ever idolise a celeb or rather.. have you ever ? Have you done any crazy stuff to show your 'devotion' to a celeb ?
Well, i used to 'worship' bryan adams. He was like my ultimate idol - I once went to the extent of becoming a pure veg when i read in an interview that he'd marry a lady who is vegetarian. After several months, i came to my senses.. but i was insanely devoted to him. I still admire him and enjoy his music but i'm not that crazy anymore esp when he performed here, in delhi, and i was RIGHT in the front row and he never looked at me (long enuff).. sigh.. i was shattered. LOL... That was quite a few yrs ago.. girlish stuff ! eh !? Any such thing happened with you ?

that's a nice thing to share! sounds funny but atleast, it was "YOU" back then. and i can't blame you. bryan adams is a great artist.
i like some celebrities, mostly actors and actresses. but i never came to a point in my life to even buy their posters and place it in my room nor buy celebrity magazines. i simply watch their new movies if i find them interesting and that's just it.
i guess we have different ways in appreciating them. sad is that they can't appreciate us back. but that's just how things work, huh?

Well, when I was a youngish teenager, there was an American popstar that I fell for. I am too embarrased to mention his name. I had all his music, bought lots of posters & put them on my wall. If there was a magazine with an article about this popstar, I would buy it.
He was about the same age as me.

I used to be certifiably in love with Bryan Adams! lol. I never got that crazy for him though. However back in the original Dirty Dancing days.... I had a poster of Patrick Swayzee as Johnny... I would kiss his "lips" every night before bed.... what a maroon I was. lol

No stalking for me. I realize they are real ppl too. Regardless of them being on a movie screen. **or making millions of dollars for nothing!** :)

When i was 12 I upset because I was going to miss a concert due to a girl scout sleep over. Unknowingly the group was staying at the same hotel as my sleepover. My sis and I made signs and walked around the hotel until we could find the group. After an hour we gave up and just as we were getting onto the elevator we found them and we were able to hang with them the rest of the evening.

I don't watch enough tv to idolize any celebrity . I only give my love and devotion to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I have always tried to idolize them quietly. Usually they dissappoint me later anyway when they do something human. LOL I really have only liked a few a lot. I realized they were entertainers and people a long time ago. I am not much of a follower for anyone, I am the leader always. I have friends who have changed their mannerism, hair style, hair color, etc, to match one of their celebs.

LOL! I like Bryan Adams too! As for the celebrity thing! Well - no - I'm not really like that about "famous" people. I used to work for a Record Company in London years ago, and my partner currently works in the Sports Management industry, so because of that, over the years, I've met many "celebrities" and discovered that all these people are really only that - just people! They happen to be talented at one particular thing, but are ultimately no different from you or I. I can obviously appreciate their talent as a sportsperson or singer/actress, but I don't think they are any more special or better than any of the "normal" people in the office where I work. We all came into the world the same way, and we will all leave the same way too! Cheers.

I find that my heros are people in my life not a celebrity. I have never looked up to a celebrity which is odd because all my friends would go crazy over one person or another. I am more a realistic kind of person and my hero is my husband. He is the kind of person that I can look up to and not be disappointed. I find that all the celebrieies are of poor character and have no moral values these days.

yep and i have a story to share. i idolize a male vocalist and i admire him so much to the extent that i always watch their gigs. maybe i look like a stalker but that's not what you think. i just love seeing him and hearing his voice for his such a crooner even if many people say that he is a bad singer, i still do admire him and i don't care what other people might say, i like him that's all. one gig i went where he sing together with his band, i almost climb the tree and stand in front of their car just to have an autograph of him!! haha! luckily, my friends stopped me or else, i might be somewhere now. this experience always made me laugh at myself for doing such a crazy thing but having an experience like that can make me wonder that, at least i've tried, even not the worst thing, but at least the good normal thing a fan does to his idol.

I used to love Clay Aiken from American Idol but I never did anything crazy. This is my first year living in Las Vegas so I will be visiting The World Series of Poker when they are in town. My favorite poker player, Humberto Brenes from Costa Rica will be there and I want his autograph. Hopefully I will not go crazy and get kicked out!

Afraid not. There are just people too that have an extraordinary job. I imagine them as parents etc and it seems odd sometimes. For example. your dad is Johnny Depp. wow that would be something.
Anyway, I have not understood how people can get so crazy about these people named stars.

I honestly cannot understand why people adore idols to the extent we are seeing nowadays. I am of the opinion that celebrities are really very normal people. There is nothing divine about them for me to worship. I like "support", I like "like" some of them, but you won't see me chasing them around the world or wanting to die for them. That is plain silly.
Just my honest views, my friend. I hope I do not offend with my post. Sorry if I have.
