why the name "yellowcard"?

Anyone knows why yellowcard is named such?

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowcard, their name comes from their use of soccer terminology to mark people who did stupid things at parties: giving a "yellow card" for a "party foul."

A yellow card is a cautionary for a player in football (soccer)...this probably isnt what its about, but it was the first thing that popped into my mind...hubby was a football ref for 20 years :-)

i think yellow card comes from the sign of yellow as an alert, like in a traffic light yellow represent "alert" to the driver to be carefull, that's only my opinion
