Is 300 a mythic masterpiece?

We just saw 300 and I think it is a masterpiece. I have seen so many movies about mythic themes, and this one, which is actually drawn, I believe, from a true historic event, is without doubt the best.
Greek history, like Roman history, is full of violence. They were warrior societies. Courage and honor were the most valued qualities, nowhere more so than among the Spartans.
This movie took these fabled warriors and masterfully used CGI to turn ordinary actors into heroes from the mists of time, just slightly more than human. It created landscapes that were just slightly unworldly, just a little more than your typical battlefield. Frank Miller is a genius, and this movie catches his sensibility perfectly.
This film uses some images of an adult nature that tap into the primal part of human memory that breeds myth and welds it to history. Obviously, it is not intended for children.
300 is like no other movie I've ever seen, and that is not a statement I can make every day.

I have not seen it yet, but I will soon.
From what I am hearing about it, this show is going to become a big hit and a classic as well.
I hear the cinematography is amazing.

It has made it into my top ten movies of all time, I think it just might be numero uno.
The unworldly environment and landscapes just added to the whole movie experience, it felt so video game-like and i love video games so it worked out great for me. There are so many scenes in the movie that i loved so much, everything, from the dialogs to the scenes to the costumes, to the fight sequences was done so beautifully, and so uniquely that i believe this can truly qualify as a masterpiece.
In fact the whole movie is like one huge favorite scene of mine, the way it started, the way the story moved and the way it ended was just unbelievable.
This one is truly a classic epic movie, better than any other epic movie i've ever seen, including Troy. And the fact that it does have some roots in history makes it even more exciting. Everything about this movie was so mystical and magical yet grounded, unlike other movies where action sequences are filmed and shown from so many angles, the genius was keeping one angle and shoot a continuous fluid awesome action sequence, like the one where leonidas goes through all those persians in their first encounter.
I can't begin to describe how much I'm in love with this movie. It was almost poetic.

YES, OF COURSE..300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!!. the greatest sequence when the king as a young lad fights the beast and also , when he kicks the intruder into the well..
