I've been trying to volunteer recently and I've noticed taht a lot of organizations are scamming people into big program fees just to volunteer? Why should I pay anyone to volunteer? ITs not like I'm getting paid. Some places like
HealthCare Volunteer www.healthcarevolunteer.com
and Idealist idealist.org are free to find volunteering opportunities but what about all the other Scam artists out there? Would you pay to volunteer - and I"m not talking about just paying for your housing or airfare, but actually pay some orgnaization to setup a volunteering experience for you?

Thats ludicrous! They are asking for a service that obviously needs to be done and you are going to be helping them complete their task for free...this is why it is called volunteer.
I would look somewhere else John like a free program, or better yet, a place that pays you!

Volunteering is for sure worth it.
But I would never volunteer anywhere that asks for money for the privilege of being a volunteer.
How much sense does that make. It is just another scam. Unbelievable!
