Since I'm kind of new to myLots I'm wondering how you chose your myLot friends. I don't have many friends interested in signing onto myLot, so I'd have to ask to be some stranger's friend. How do you pick who you want to ask to be your friend? How long does it take to find folks with similar interests that you think you'd like to have as a friend? do you just ask lots of people? Just people who respond to your discussion? What is your criteria for choosing myLot friends?

I try to watch for trends. Either people I tend to post to a lot or those that post to me a lot. Also, if someone requests me as a friend, I like to look and see what type of posts they are active in. It is like real life, if I have something in common with them or find them interesting, I give it a shot ! Best Wishes !

I guess I'm just really dense, but I don't know how to request someone on myLot to be my friend. Am I making it to complicate?

I'm still learning this stuff too. We don't really know people online in that we could pass them on the street and never know it. But as in real life, most people online are actually pretty nice and decent so when they ask to be added as a friend I usually accept - unless their posts are really whacko. haha
And you can always delete them if you want.:)

I find most people to be decent, too. Of course, some of the "whacko" ones are probably decent, just challenging to understand! :-)

Excellent. Good point. "They are challenging to understand." I like that.
Maybe you have a career in diplomacy? ;)

I haven't picked very many friends and like you, I just started on myLot by responding to discussions and I had no friends. I really didn't understand how the system worked. As time went on, people just requested me to join there friends list and I accepted. It didn't matter to me that we didn't share the same interests as I like to read about other peoples interests. I am sending you a friends request and I hope you will accept. Hope you are enjoying myLot as much as I am.
