working on linux system

if anyone here runs Linux in his/her computer....could you tell me how do you like it ? I'm actually trying it out. As far as I know there might be incompatibility problems, for example, in running some particular program which is designed for windows only. and than: what about the portable mp3 readers? are they possible to use with this system? I don't know anybody using Linux, so I ask you here thank you
