So, how do you like my new avatar?

I figure I've been here long enough to move beyond the generic logo. Although the little man on the green background has served me well, it was time to admit how personal mylot has become to me. I mean, there is no sense hiding behind an anonymous avatar when I tend to be rather open in my postings. So, voila! The ZenDove avatar. What do you think? What do you think it symbolizes?

very nice! i was going to make mention of it before i even saw this discussion! for me it's all about the colors. i know there is symbolism and all, but for me the reason i'm drawn to it is definitely the color arrangement, like having the red on one side and blue on the other (hot vs cold color scheme).

It seems like every element of this painting has to do with contrast. Which makes sense because it is a tarot card symbolizing integration. Very interesting that so many people picked up on that feeling. kewl.

You seem to have a creative mind...your avatar is great.. The eagle and swan opposing each other seems to show a stuggle between the power of aggression(eagle) and the power of beauty (swan) the snake at the bottom shows an ancient symbol depicting a serpent that is eating its own tail....it is known as the Ouroboros..It has been used to symbolise ideas of cyclicality or the vicious circle... the Symbol in the centre is known as a Taijitu...it also states that every movement on the Taijiquan as based on circles just like the symbol..

Thanks for the info, I had no idea what the symbols were called. It's very significant to me that I chose symbols that represent the circles of life, as I am trying to reach a new level of karmic understanding - yet, again. I especially like your avatar, as well. What a beautiful Pegasus. It's exotic enough to actually come from Fiji! Thankx again.

I definitely like your avatar as it is very sharp. I did not see what your previous avatar looked like but this one is very nice. I have played around with different avatars as well. I am not sure what your avatar symbolizes. I am sure that other people will like it too.

This is my first attempt at having an avatar. Before, there was just the little guy waving that mylot uses for all newbies. Thanks for the compliments (which I was blatantly fishing for!)

Thanks and I was wondering what your imterpretation of the symbolism might be. Doesn't psychology rely on some interpretation of symbols, i.e, dreams, testing, etc.? Just curious as to how different people would see the same image.

Thanks, Shaun. I've often wondered if that cutie pie in your avatar is your baby. If I could look that sweet, maybe I would have used a photo of myself. lol!

Tsk,tsk. I am probably the least religious person that you will ever meet. Mystical? Spiritual? Perhaps, but certainly not religious. Which religion, anyway?
