Do you like to wear glasses?

I was a small boy when my oculist told me I had to wear glasses; I threw a moody as I recall, and started crying, informing my dad that no way on earth was I going to wear specs. I was as good as my word. For much of my young manhood, I was too vain for specs and just kept them in my pocket, only using them when I desperately needed them. How about you? Do you like wearing glasses, or do you hate them? Perhaps you don't need them: you are so lucky!

I had wanted to wear glasses since I was probably five years old and was very happy when I found out I was nearsighted with astigmatism and needed to wear glasses and it ranks up there as one of the best days of my life. So, I have always loved wearing my glasses and 30+years later I still do! However, it is always easier to wear something you have always wanted to wear then wear something you never wanted in the first place.

I wear glasses when working at the computer or for reading. My eyesight isn't what it used to be! I can't thread a needle without the using my glasses! As I am going to take up embroidery again, I will need to use my eyeglasses to see the stitches. Better to use them if you need to than to squint and get more crows feet!

I've been wearing them since fourth grade so I guess I'm used to them. Never liked them, though. I thought of switching to contacts, but my eyes get sore and so the idea of putting lenses on the eyeballs doesn't sound too appealing. My vision is so bad I can't see more than a few inches clearly without glasses.

I can imagine that a small boy would be most upset at having to wear glasses. Children can be very cruel, and in many cases it wouldn't be seen as a "manly" thing for a boy. I think young girls would take to wearing glasses much better than young boys.
I know of one boy about 9 years old who wears glasses and they really suit him. He is very much an intellectual and has always been the odd one out, so wearing glasses has made no difference to him.
When boys or girls become teenagers and young adults glasses can become very much a fashion statement. In fact, girls in particular wear glasses when they have no need of them.
I have needed to wear reading glasses for many years now, but in the last couple of years I very seldom leave them off, the main reason being that if I take them off I won't remember where I put them. It is so much easier to keep them on. They don't bother me.

I first started wearing glasses when I was in the 5th grade. That was....oh soooo many years ago!! When I was a teenager I started wearing contact lenses. Then later I switched back and forth between glasses and contacts. Now I wear only contacts.
