What do you do when you get a telemarketing call?

Do u take the call? do you politely refuse them? or do you hang up immediately on them? Do you shout at them, curse at them, verbally abuse at them or sue them? Or report them to the attorney general?

I believe that it is fine enough for me to refuse them. I don't think it will be proper to be nasty unto persons who are only trying to do their job. It will be good if we will consider once in a while how others fare in life in order to make it through.

generally refuse them as politely as I can, I know they're going through a lot of abuse ... I understand a lot of people do get annoyed though:
Seinfeld: Hello?
Telemarketer: Hi, would you like to subscribe to new york times magazine?
Seinfeld: (enthusiastic) Yes!
Seinfeld: *hangs up*
