Which character (apart from Red and Andy) is your favourite and why?

So, anyone apart from the two main characters. I would have to say Brooks Hatlen (played by James Whitmore). The character is so endearing, I found myself quite fond of him by the time he makes his tragic decision in the guesthouse - it's a heartbreaking scene. The thought of someone being so institutionalised that they miss being in a place like Shawshank is shocking. (I must point out that I already posted this identical topic under 'The Shawshank Redemption' but it got no replies and I just realised that all the activity is going on in 'Shawshank Redemption' - I'm not trying to scam myLot or anything, I would just like to hear people's answers to this question.)
