I asked my hubby about that and he said if the paint is water based, you should be able to just wash it off with soap and water. But if it's oil based, you probably want to call a local veterinarian and find out what would be good to use. Hubby said using starter fluid would work as long as you wash it off right away, but I don't know how toxic that would be to the kitty. I would just call the vet and get some suggestions. Good luck hon.

The best thing to do is wash it off, if it is a water base. When it dries, it can also be combed out, or cut off. It will wear off in time, if it doesn't wear off. Remember that cats lick themselves, so be very careful not to use something that can be ingested, or they will get sick or die. Call the vet for the best products to use. Good luck dear. Don't forget to rate "Best response" to the one that tried to help you the best. Blessings, M&M
I have rated you a + for your good post. Keep it up.

Oh now the poor cat.LOL You might want to call a vet and ask what you can use. You might not be able to get it off. But I hope the cat doesnt get sick from licking herself. Sorry I dont have more to help you out. Good luck.

LOL--- what a sight that must be-- Lucky has got to be adorable! How funny of your brother for thinking your curious cat wouldn't be curious and get into the paint. : )
Cats pretty much clean themselves-- But I'm not sure ingesting paint is such a good idea.. I'd check online and then with a vet to see what they think-- If there isn't too much paint maybe it will just wear off-- If Lucky is long haired-- maybe you can cut the paint out?
First I;d try to calmy wash him-
Good luck!

That is poisoness to cats if they lick themselves, so you must make sure not to leave any of it on, wash her well.

Oh dear. Firstly you should find out if the paint is toxic and you really should see a vet if it is.
If it isn't toxic and doesn't cause an allergic reaction the best thing to do is to leave well alone and let it grow out, and enjoy having an ummmmm interesting cat for a few weeks.

Hi Mel, wow that is a bit hard to get off the paint off your cat how are you going to manage this have you tried cutting some of it off, or you could try nail remover this may be easier than terps, and not so smelly. I think that you should try something easy so that you will not get hurt and scrathed.

im not sure if that would sting her tho. none of us dare try to get it off because she can be nasty when she wants to be because as a kitten she got kicked out on the streets my brother found her and brought her home to us ever since she has been timid and scared of people if we touch her she will hit us with her paw unless she comes up to us then she is fine lol i might see if my mum will try something when she comes up lol

I have absolutely NO idea how to get paint off LOL. Especially if the cat is a bit mean.
Honestly though some of the suggestions here have me a little worried, because things like Nail polish remover will be toxic to the cat if you leave it on, and it might even be absorbed into the skin if you don't rinse it off in time, so not only then are you fighting with a hissing scratching cat, you're dealing with an ill one.
I personally would try soap and water, and if that doesn't work, take her to the vets. They may have to put her to sleep to get the paint off.
Good Luck.

I would call the vets and find out what to take it out
depending on how furry her butt is you might have to take her to a grommer and get it shaved.
But i would check with the vet first
