It is very easy to solve once you know the standard moves to solve the puzzle. Though there are books giving the way to solve the puzzle, why don't you try it yourself with the little help I give.
Solving one side is easy. But make sure that while one surface is of one colour its rim is also not a jumble of colours but four colours on four sides.
Then experiment and see what moves you can make without upsetting what you have done. For instance if you hold the made surface upwards and make a movement like down, right, up, left the top surface will be upset. If you reverse this with right, down, left, up then it will be back in the same way. Why not do this but make a small change before the reverse movement. Then see what happens. This will help you to solve the cube on your own.

i solved one the other day, took me a few days, doing it a couple of hours each day lol, i got one face done and 2 layers on each side of all the same colours, then i turned to the internet for guides on how to do the last bit, so in a way i guess i cheated but the stickers are still intact and the online guides were hard lol they messed my layers up a few times so i had to start again, but its done now. woohoo

I admit, I have tried for a long time, but still never been able to figure one out either. I guess better luck next time.

I have never been able to figure these things out either. I think they are only for genius, see I cannot even spell the word! I do have to admit though that they are addicting and are fun, but I get frustrated very easily so then I have to give up. Congrats to anyone who can figure them out though.
