i was never the kind of person that had a vision of what my wedding was going to be like. in fact, i had no intensions of ever getting married or haveing a family. BUT when i met the right guy, and he proposed, all of a sudden, i had an idea of what i wanted. i wanted a very small intimate wedding, with just our immediate family and our closest friends. well, my and my fiancees mom, were NOT accepting that. lol. they made it a huge blowout event and opened my eyes to the potential of what it could be. in the end, it turned out better than i could have ever dreamed. the church was beautiful, the hall was breathtaking.....but the most important thing, our families were there and our closest friends were there. it ran as smoothly as it could have. the only bad thing (and thank goodness this was the worst thing that happend all night) was that the dj didnt play the right song for the very last dance. i wanted to slow dance to "at last" by etta james, but he played some song i had never heard of. i was a little mad, but got over it very quickly realizing that so much worse could have happend. i had to be greatful that the whole night was the best experience i had ever had. thanks to the mommas!!

my wedding surpassed my expectations! i knew what i wanted from the very start but seeing the outcome of a year's preparation truly was amazing! true, there were some things that didn't go quite as planned but i chose to ignore them. i had the grandest day of my life! and i'm sure my husband did, too. he told me :)
if you want to see a glimpse of what our wedding was like, here are some pics - http://community.webshots.com/user/marloncez_101103

I had a very unconventional wedding. We wore jeans and dress tops, very hippies for me. We had all of our family around us with the preacher standing in front of us with a backdrop of huge evergreen trees behind us. It was beautiful. The only bad thing was it was a 110 degrees outside and we were all in long sleeved shirts! lol
It was a beautiful wedding though and even though they played the wrong song for every song during the whole wedding, it broke the tension and made everyone laugh, including myself, the bride!
We ate cake and then had a big bonfire afterwards and partied till dawn.
I wouldn't have had it any other way! Mistakes and all!

As I was reading your story, something flashed on my mind. My wedding preparation. Kind a worst thing...I planned it the way I wanted it to be, but all things went out when my inlaws started to control everything...The wedding was good enough, but all things that I wanted to happen never all happened. How I wish we could get married for the second time, with all our own preparation...So sad.

aww, thats too bad. im so sorry to read that. it was YOUR wedding, and they should have left it alone, especially since you already had an idea of what you wanted. well, i hope you can get your second wedding. have you thought about maybe doing a re-newel ceremony? it would be fun! this time though, make sure to speak up and tell everyone else to butt out, so that you can have the wedding that YOU wanted. :)

thats too bad, well, maybe this means that you can have a renewal ceremony, and make it what you dreamed of.

my wedding wasn't what i had dreamed of...i wanted a big wedding at this castle. here in ct but it ended up at my aunts house where she had well over 200 acres. with a view of a beautiful mountain in the back. it turned out BEAUTIFUL and very big...and surprisingly is was almost as expensive as a big fairytale wedding would have cost. but i would do it again in a heart beat..everything the exact same except our dj...HORRIBLE. that was also our worst issue. he NEVER played our wedding song for our dance. and they left EARLY...after being paid extra to stay 2 more hours...LAWSUIT..anyway..my day was BEAUTIFUL
