Can you really work at home?

I am employed full time and put in over 50 hours a week with OT. I have read so many things about working from home online. I DO NOT want to take surveys, post ads or the such. Is there any way to earn money online at home that is legit without hopping around to a million different sites? I am not looking to have this as a sole source of income. Just looking for an extra few hundred a month. I have looked into freelance writing as well... seems impossible to get a piece that will be accepted for publishing. I'm willing to do honest work for honest pay without the BS or "buy in" fees. Help!!!!!

There are much better things to do than working at home... I did that... i made money... but I hate it now... All day staying home, not getting in contact with other people ... it sucks... Thank God i got a very good offer and started seriously working again... I really missed my work... and I`ll never ever try to think that something can be easy... "Nothing is easy, and if something apears that way... you`re in for a big surprise!!!" Trust me... this is true... the easiest things are always the hardest... ;)

I agree that there are definetely other great ways to make money that are not online at all. That's interesting to me that you say you dislike not being in contact with other people, while I am the complete opposite right now. I earn online to get away from people.
My last job was a blackjack dealer, which was excellent money where I worked but the whole job is interacting with and entertaining people. After a while, I got sick of people. I was tired of entertaining people I wasn't interested in, so I quit.
It was the easiest job I've heard of, as I had 2 hours of breaks, averaged $350-$400/night, had no responsibilities, prior experience and only 3 weeks of training. So on your point about not finding easy money, I respectfully disagree.
But your point applied to earning online, I tend to agree. The easier it seems, the more competitive and harder it is. I don't know of any online programs where most people are earning even over $100/day after a month. It takes more work online.
I was naive coming off of that cake job thinking that making $200/day online right away would be a breeze since I made so much at my last job.
My advice to most people looking to really make a living online is to keep their day job and be in it for the long haul. There's huge money online actually, but you have to learn from people truly doing it. Also, while it is technically possible to make it big within only a few months, for the vast majority, it will never happen.

Funny, I just got some information about being a dealer. I have no problem interacting with people. I have a full time job as is, Im just looking to bring in a few hundred extra per month and was hoping it could be done at home since time is so limited and gas prices make extensive travel impossible.

I also work at a casino right now, and I can tell you that a lot of people who go to casinos think they are hotshots, and are rude, and expect service in seconds. I'm currently working on getting out of it because I'm so sick of it.

Yes. From home you can work as a transcriptionist, typist, data encoder, or a trader in the financial markets. You have to learn it though, and the competition is stiff because home-based work is very attractive especially for those with little children to take care of.

I believe you can work from home and earn a reasonable income, Although I agree that there is a lot of BS out there and I have had my fair share of sifting through it all. Now I work 1 day a week and I have also started a online Jewellery/cosmetics shop which is Australian based the only money I put into it was the cost of having a web site done and my $20.00 start up kit. But anyway there is something out there and yes it is very hard.

I am really looking for sites where I can also earn some additional income. The problem I encounter sometimes is that I am from the Philippines and many sites are available only for US and Canada and do not include other countries. I'm getting info from the responses. Thanks a lot.

My son and his business partner build websites at home. Some times they don't even get out of their sleep clothes. (I can't say pjs because the partner doesn't wear pjs, but a pair of shorts and a tee shirt). You could also open up a day home. 4 kids at $100 a week each is enough to pay the mortgage most places.

Have you ever though about selling on eBay. You can get started with very little investment and do it part-time until you get it going. I make and sell custom doll clothes on ebay. Check out my store: http://stores.ebay.com/Dream-Doll-Boutique

Working 50 hours a week is no joke. I wonder where you find the time for leisure :P
If you are just looking for an extra few hundreds a month, I guess there are many other jobs available, if you are not selective. I am curious. Why must it be online?

It's not strictly on line work but check out Westathome if you hink you'd like to work from home taking calls for infomercial sales. You have to pass a background check and take a survey to determine whether you qualify. All you need is your computer and a phone with a headset.

I've found a great way to make money online, this site has been online since 1998, and is part of the BB Online Program, there's no buy in fees. It also provides free training, very easy to do. why don't you take a look at it. I've been involved for 6 months and I'm makeing some great money for what I do.
