I often wonder what dreams really mean. Why can we remember a dream if we wake up during it.. but not remember having a dream at all if we dont? And we never remember the whole dream, only bits and pieces, usually.
Nightmares are the worst of cours, and those are the ones we usually remember the most about. Some say our nightmares are our worries.. but I have had them and not thought of nothing terrible all day.
When I was younger, I had a re-occuring nightmare that really made no sense to me what-so-ever. I had this dream from the time I could first ever remember, around 5 until well into my 20's. I would be in a bottom right hand corner of what would be most likely described as a bright white background, like a giant sheet of blank paper. On the upper left hand side would be a horrible grotesque blob of a monster. It would grow slowly and start cover the whiteness, inching closer and closer but ever so slow. I would wake up screaming, sometimes silent screams, and drenched in sweat. To this day I have no idea what that dream represented.
Do you think it meant nothing at all? And why do you think it was a re-occuring dream? It wasnt every night, but it was often enough!! And went on for about 20 years.
It really blows my mind.
