American have "up to date" machinery..but every day military casualties goes up in Iraq. And at the same time American people cry because of this. Of course they don't like it but they can't do nothing. So, what we should do now? Are this man fight for America or for what? Do we want Vietnam war for the 2nd time?..

There is absolutely nothing the American public can do to stop the war. If you want to use the Vietnam War as an example, fine:
During the Vietnam War era, there were many forms of social movements and this didn't even stop the war. What stopped it? The other side (Vietcong). They were overflooded with troops and were obviously outnumbering American troops.
So to answer your question, you're right. Nothing can be done until 2008 when we'll have another president. But this is the part I'm worried about. I can see the next president withdrawing our troops, BUT what will the other side do? The terrorists are not like the Vietnamese. The Vietnamese just waved goodbye. In Iraq, the Middle East and HECK the whole world there are terrorists. If we withdraw and we have lessened security what will the retaliation be once that cat's away?

WEll, the US military could change and actually USE their superior machinery, but because the American military in Iraq care more about the Iraqi civilians than themselves and are bound by rules of engagement when it comes to Iraqi's cowardly tactics, they cannot.
