sequels better than original

which movie sequels do you think better than the original? there's already a discussion here about bad movie sequels but i think not all sequels are bad.
rambo 2 for example is much much better than the original. is there any other movie that you can think of?

More often then not, the sequels fail to live up to their original instalment, in terms of sequels my favorites are Godfather II, Superman II and Aliens in each case i think the sequels brings something to the table, that was missing in the original.

I think X-Men 2 was better than the first one. The first one was ok, but I felt it spent too much time on exposition....I'll admit I could be judging this a little harshly since I already had a background knowing about x-men. I have been reading the comics for many years, so to me, all the introductions and stuff were taken a little too far.
I thought in the second one things really picked up speed and some great new characters were intorducted. I really iked the treatment of nightcrawler. Thoguh he looked a little differnt than in the comics, I though the way the character acted was pretty close to how I would have imagined.
I have to admit though I didn't not like the third movie at all.

if i can remember, there should be a character named gambit in x-men. i think he is a part of the x-men team together with cyclops, rogue, storm, wolverine, jean, beast and professor x. another one is jubilee.
i have to agree - the third one is not as good as the first two.

BAD BOYS part 2 is ar superior to the first one...the style of action and the story all worked out much better and even director Michael Bay will admit he messed the first one up

I liked Dr. Dolittle 2 better and Sister Act 2 better than the first ones, and anything but the first star trek movie was better.
