I used to buy my make-up items from any store, and often bought locally made items, that were not branded. But once my friend advised me to use less of such products, because they can get me a skin infection, or a pigmentation problem. Thereafter I stopped using them, and now I go for only the branded make-up items. What do you do about this? Are you Brand conscious?

Before, I was using the same. Those locally made which is not branded. But there are some allergies and irritation occured so I consulted a specialist. She advised me to try those branded make-up products which made me to be a "Brand Conscious." Like other said, every product has its own specialty and it really do something with our skins.

i use both branded and 'less-expensive' brands based on what the client needs. generally less-expensive brands tend to fade during the day or in the case of foundations do not have the yellow-based color asians are looking for. foundations tend to be either white or pinkish. for photoshoots i do use branded as well as cheaper brands for my eyeshadows because there are affordable brands that have gorgeous colors to match those at mac. ofcourse, they tend to run or fade after awhile. that's why it's best to use them on photoshoots. if the client is going to a special event, i use all high end. I have tried and tested these from the mascara, eyeliner, shadow, blush etc. but if you're just gonna wear makeup at daytime (everyday use)and you're on a strict budget, a branded foundation/powder foundation will do. just wet your brush and apply the less expensive eyeshadow to pack more color in. and for the blush, some cheektints do last long.

Once, I worked as beauty advisor and through that job I've learnt which product/ brand that suit me. So....yes, I'm a brand conscious. But I don't use just one branded for make up or skin care. Because every brand has its own specialty. And for me personally this branded (such as lancome, clarins, chanel, ysl, clinique, etc) help my skin better than a local made/ store item. I didn't say local made/store make up or skin care are bad though. It's just everybody's different. Some people skin can handle locally made items and worked perfect on them, and some don't. And branded item isn't that bad either.
