I have a very dry skin - earlier during winters my legs would be itching so badly that i could not get sleep at night i would pour hot water and then feel better for some time and again the itching process would begin.. now of late its happening at all seasons... - i had been to a skin specialist and she had prescribed some ointment but i still have not got any relief....
I really dont know what to do.. tried aloevera, vaseline adn all sorts of cream but no cure...
If anyone has any idea wbout it do lemme know

i think you're applying remedy right after washing your skin. this is when the dryness already started or even this is where drying started worsening already. i believe bars like cetaphil, oilatum and others of the same kind are designed to not to soothe (which you're doing already) but prevent skin from drying right in the process where drying starts .

The first rule in Dermatology...if something itches....DO NOT SCRATCH. It will only makes things worst to the point where you get excoriations and eventually infections on that area. Try putting on petroleum jelly...and follow your doctors orders...not missing anything. If a physician prescribes something you should take or do....DO IT. Do not skip on it. There are instructions so that medications will provide optimal relief. Try prescription anti-histamines...these are anti-allergy, anti-inflammatory medicines. which can help relieve the itching.
