i have graduated 2 years ago. before i graduated, my classmates and i went to Glorietta (mall) in Makati, Philippines where there were a job fair occassion. i applied about at least 15 companies.. none of them call but only 3 companies did call... they were call center companies which i can't do work for them because of my hearing impairement. in the job fair, alot of them are all call center. it is so hard to find a job here in Philippines that's suitable for me. i did my best for a long time till now to find a right job. i seemed to be so picky, i know. there are many companies i am not familiar with but banks and some call centers. i always have been surfing at Jobstreet site and newspaper, but dad kept telling me that it's not safe and rather me to do the old fashion way. i understand that such as, going to the company and apply. i rather to do some surfing and check out every sunday's newspaper ads if there's any availability job for me and get the number and address i can ask for an appointment. i understand that my dad is being protective and concern of my safety.
to be honest, i am afraid of being rejected. i am afraid that i may not do anything good, being fooled or making fun of me becuase of my hearing impairement..
what i'm good at is typing fast (45-65wpm), can type to copy to MS Office and organizing alot of paperwork and filings... also i like taking pictures..
i signed up to this site so that i can earn... but i also would like to have a reality job. i can't trust any job from the internet, "online job" thing due to scams.
what do you think i should do? should i keep on searching the job that can suitable for me? any suggestions? i am tired of doing "nothing" for 2 years and depending on my parents' allowance. i want to do something on own earnings.

Your predicament sounds as bad as mine! I earned my degree in 2001 in Information Systems Technology. I have yet to become employed in this field. Everywhere I apply, and get lucky enough for an interview, I am just not what they are looking for. It seems to work in IT field in the US, you need to have work experience. I cannot gain work experience, because I don't have IT work experience, just a degree.
It sucks, I have worked on and off through temporary agencies, in hopes of finding a company who will allow me work experince in IT field, but to no avail. I am destined to become an Administrative Assistant, which isn't bad. I could be dwindled down to retail sales or fast food worker. :-)

thanks for the reply... yea, it was bad to wait for long 2 years... my course was a certificate (3years course). that's the reason why it's hard to find a job. i was afraid to apply the job to those required for a degree course because they might reject me. administrative assistant is what i thought i can do. assistant, to follow the boss and to tell me what to do for the job. basically it's like training before getting used to it. it's what i can do. i would like to get some trainings til i know how to do this and that at work.
