I usually start discussions which I am really that interested in. Most often, I don't check to see if a similar one has been posted because when I ask something, it is about something that really is important to me.

Well, its upto you how you take the overall. I often start discussion without checking the previous because sometimes I checked and it made me disappointing that so many people had already started the same and what I had in my mind totally astray! I do it at the moment as well but still there is very low chances for a certain topic never discussed and now having 80,000 and more population in mylot I don't know how the how much redundancy would be there. Anyhow I must say the Best of Luck for everyone.

If I think of a discussion topic, I'll search it first and see if there are similar ones out there already. If a question is simlar to mine but not quite there, I'll still start a discussion. I think with this website it is all about timing and if a similar question was asked two months ago, I'll ask the same one today in hopes to find a different crowd that responds.

Depends, like this one. Did you start it off the top of your head or just re-word your last one? I try to start different topcs/questions so no one gets bored of me and stops replying.
