does your PARENTS SPANK YOU when you were YOUNG ??

I was more than just spanked as a child, I was literally beaten by my mother. How did that make me feel? Very hard to describe those feelings. I felt helpless and hopeless. I have 2 children and I would NEVER hurt them! I love them and they are my world. There are alternatives to spankings, like time-out and loss of privledges that work extremely well.

My parents did not spank for no reason. I gave reason. They were pretty easy going with me and my brothers, however, if they felt it was important they would spank us without question. I am the same way. I have four children and I do not spank for little things. I will only spank after warnings over and over. Especially over things like school work. If you have homework to do, do it. Don't wait unitl I find out from your teachers that you are missing half of your assignment for you to tell me that you did not feel like doing them. That deserves a spankin no matter what anyone else says. My second thing is respect. I do not take disrespect lightly at all and I feel that too many parents now a days do. To me it is an automatic spankin.

I only remember being spanked a few times as a child and I am absolutely sure I deserved it. I know one time it was because I crossed the street (at age 4) to visit with the man who drove the ice cream truck. I only spank my children when they have committed a big "no-no". If you spank all the time, it becomes innefective.

LOL I never TRIED to get spanked as a child ;-) but yes I was spanked quite often actually and grounded (for no apparent reason) and yes I used to spank my kids but very rarely...in fact my daughter has only been spanked like 3 or 4 times in her life cause her feelings would get so hurt she'd throw up which was really frustrating since I never spanked either of the kids hard at all LOL...

Oh yes! I was spanked! My mom did it when we (my brothers and sisters) deserved it, but my dad did it whenever he was angry...which seemed to be all of the time! He took out his frustrations/anger on all of us. Thank God for my mom!!

I was spanked by my parents.I probably deserved though.I have tried time outs with my two kids and also taking things away and it doesnt work.I do not spank them for little things but it is a major one then I do.I dont spank hard though.

hi,friend,mine was different experience in my childhood.As my father was teacher upto 7th class school,i was studied in that school only.In our country beating is common by teaches in school.In my case i was beaten by my father at school as a teacher and when it came to house again i was beaten by him as a father.But i was recovered early and impressed as a brilliant student in short time. But now i gave freedom to my children,they also becoming upto mark on studies and personal behaveour also.

When my parents spanked me..I deserved it. It didnt happen often because I knew what would happen if I misbehaved.. I'd spank my child if they needed one.
