Soon after we got married we aquired a beautiful tabby kitten who then soon produced three others. We kept one of her kitterns and found homes for the other two. We kept the two and they were great friends. The younger one died after eating a poisoned rat and the mother pined and died at the age of ten years. Within six months another kitten came to join our family and he lives with us enhancing our life to this day.
Howmany cats have you had, do you remember them?

Growing up, we probably had about 5 cats. Since I've been an adult, we've had one. And still have her. She thinks she's a dog. She lays at my feet or follows me everywhere.

well in the past years we have had 8 cats live here with us but as for owning i dont think anyone owns a cat, there independent self sufficient when needed and can be good company when it suits them. I think a cat will choose who they want to be living with. I lost my old cat after 15 years he was a true friend to the end of his days, after he had gone I said no more because the hurt of the loss is too big, about 4 weeks later I had a friend visit and he had a little bundle of fluff under his coat, I just burt into tears it was as if my lost cat had returned again no in fact I KNOW it is my cat reincarnated, each day he does more an more the same things as the previous one did hes even the same colour, now how wierd or meant to be was that. Hes 10 weeks old now and runs the house how he wants it and loves to play at 3 am by insisting he wakes me up by licking my face and sitting on my chest. I do find she cats are not as loving as Toms tc blessed be xx

I had two older females and they finally passed away. It was very hard to deal with so we got some more. I now have 3 young females and they are just great. Love to watch them running around and playing. I still miss my other two cats.

My very first cat as a child was a Ginger tabby aptly named Ginger. While we still had him we took in a dumped stray again a black kitty, aptly named Blacky. I was definetly the most original kid when it came to names. ;)
A few years after both of them moved on we adopted a tabby cat from a cat shelter, a bit more unimaginative with the name this time, calling it Whiskey. We ended up having him for 13 years. The last couple of years of his life we took in a deceased relatives Chinchilla cat. She was quite old at the time so we only owned her for a couple of years, being put down at a ripe old age of 18.
After Whiskey was put down, we adopted another two kitties from a cat shelter - Patches (a grey, black, brown, white tabby) and Sammy (ginger tabby.) A couple of months after we got them a family friend rang needing help to get some kittens out from under her house along with their mother. Strays who had taken up home under her house, but had started wandering into her backyard, and being concerned her dog would end up killing or at the least hurting one, we went along and got them out. They were too young to be seperated from mother cat really, so we had Sammy, Patch, Mum cat (we named her Sandy - a ginger, but more of a sandy ginger tabby), and her three kittens (whisper, northern, and smoky.) All but Smoky were also ginger kits. We rehomed Smoky with a relative of a family friend. Sandy was taken to a cat shelter as she kept fighting with Sammy. Therefore, today we have Sammy, Patch, Northern and Whisper. :D A happy little cat family.

I've only ever had one, and thats the one we have now. We're adding a kitten to the mix soon, though we do have to be careful because our cat isn't too too fond of other cats. A friend advised me to get a kitten because they adapt easier and are easier to keep in their place when it comes to territory.
My partners family have had cats all his life. His mom had an outdoor cat called Beatrice. She got run over by a truck. Then they got another one called Hobbes. He too lost his life at the hands of an irresponsible driver, right outside the gates of his home.
Now she has an extremely overweight indoor cat called Mindy. Mindy is frightened of her own shadow lol, and hates strangers with a passion. It took her some time to get used to me, and right as she did, I left for 6 weeks to go get my affairs in order before moving back LOL.

Thinking back to when i was a kid, i can remember quite a few cats i have had. When i was a kid and my parents were still together we had two cats i can remember, Crystal and crash. Crystal wasnt fixed so she had a few litters, though i dont remember what happened to them. In my teens i got a kitten for my 14th birthday that mysteriously disappeared so my dad got me another i named Donnell. Then from my cosmetology teacher i was given an older cat that need a home named Tara. She was my favorite. When my mom remarried we ended up with another cat named meow, who did not meow. Right now i have two cats. One is a make my older son named Scrappy and the other is a black female that was a stray named mama kitty. Where i work at we have a whole bunch of cats, we dont own, but we do take care of.
