Our little tabby cat has been sick the last few days. She actually threw up a couple of times and has had some other issues. Now yesterday we heard that there are some cat foods that are being recalled. They are actually causing kidney failure and killing pets. I am worried now...and my boyfriend has thrown out some food. We will find out today...and hopefully our little cat has not been affected. How can issues like this arise...and what is next as far as foods for humans and animals. Should we all be scared?

Well I really hope that your cat is okay. I was shocked when I heard about that. I have 3 dogs but we haven't bought any of that food that was recalled. It is scary to now wonder if that could happen in human food. Makes me think it could maybe happen if it's happening in our pets food. Well actually it has in some ways with the last scares of the lettuce and peanut butter being recalled.

Menu Foods is a Canadian company. They make a lot of the cat and dog foods used in Canada and the United States. if your cat eats one of the brands made by Menu then you should worry. I understand the problem is rat poison being in the dog and cat food.

Hey, here's the link! Go to menu foods.com and they have a whole list of the pet foods being recalled. I hope you weren't feeding your little one any of these. Best of luck to you.

It makes one wonder how safe foods really are. However, the vast majority of foods are safe. I still believe. But on the other hand, it only takes contact once and that could lead to trouble. Who can we trust? I can't remember a major pet food recall anytime in the past.
