Global Internet Shutdown Day is the day where people try not to use the internet. It will take place on March 27th 2007.
Read about it here: http://neonscent.com/index9.php#sdday
Do you think you can do it? What would you do instead of going on the internet?

I can see the point of it but I only think a small proportion of the population are addicted to the internet. A large proportion of the world's population still have no access to it. There is a "switch off TV week" and a "no shopping day" organised by adbusters/media foundation. I think these are more important and necessary.

What's the point of it? I use the internet every day and I have any reason not to use it. I have lots of things I can do instead of, but I do them anyway.

If Internet will shut down on one whole day then this will affect the lives of many people in the world who use the internet for every hour of the day to either enjoy surfing or doing research work or doing business.
For these people it will be analogical as to saying dont eat for a whole day. Please may i know for what reason this day has been proclaimed.

Seems to be an interesting celebration of all the kind till date .. maybe treated as a work-off day .. with no works as well as nothing to .. :). As people are mostly depended on Internet so for those this day may be treated as a Black Day, no business, no corrospondence in a simple way to say 'Nothing to do today'.. :)
