Do you decide what to Eat before you Sleep?

Alright guys & gals, no dirty thoughts here. This is a clean discussion and I am talking about breakfast.
Do you decide what you want to eat the next morning before you head for bed?
Some of you probably remember that I have insomnia. As such, food is one of the topics I rely on when I get tired of counting sheep. Yes, I know it may sound silly, but you probably have gotten used to the bizarre ways my mind works. If not, get used to it. :P
I normally hunt for bread or pastries lying around the house. Either that or I will ransack the fridge to see what I can salivate over. Occasionally I will put some water to boil and cook some instant noodles - but hey, I try not to do that too often since MSG is not overly healthy. Whichever the case, I will complement it with a hot cup of Milo (an energy drink that you may or may not be familiar with).
So what about you? Do you decide what to eat before you sleep? Or do you wake up the next day and rummage through the kitchen? Or do you always eat the same thing day in day out? Or do you skip breakfast totally? Or... ?
Do share your thoughts. ;-)
PS.: I have given out some virtual medals for my "Do you taste the food you eat?" discussion at http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/855628.aspx . In particular, please check out responses 7, 11, 25 and 40. It's still a free-for-all since I have not marked out the best response just yet.
I do seek your indulgence that I can only do this one discussion at a time. There is a limit to the number of images I can upload a day. I am feeling handicapped because I do not know how many I am allowed. Neither do I know the start and end timings for each day so I can't really keep track too. I don't want to run into the situation whereby I can't post an image with my discussion - which was exactly what happened last night. :P

I have to confess if I think about food before I go to sleep I get so hungry I have t ogo and eat it.
I'm so sorry you have insomnia, it's awful, luckily mine seens to have subsided, I think it's to do with winter - in summer I hardly sleep but in winter I'm noral or hibernating, think I may be slightly affected by SAD. July and August (England)I'm lucky if I get 3 hours so I know how you feel.
Usually mornings are a scramble around to see what I fancy, the kids have cereal, Shrek runs out with nothing and I tend to have whatever I fancy after the school run.

I don't really plan what I'm going to eat the next day. I usually just wake up and then figure out what we have in the refrigerator and make something. The only days I really think about what I'm going to cook for breakfast is when I want to show off to my wife and make her a romantic breakfast. :)

As I take care of my elderly father and he's on a special diet I have to plan all the meals now well in advance as I have to count calories, sodium, sugar and various other ingrediantes for his diet. But now as far as me and my breakfast plans. I'm along the lines of you. I eat whetever I can find as I also am the type that sleeps maybe 3 hours a day/night. What I find myself eating most times is a fried egg sandwich on a bagel or english muffin. If I feel really adventurous I may add a slice of sheese and some fried onions. Then comes the pastries, donuts, rolls, or a slice of pie. So that's the way I decide what to eat and when. HAHAHAHA.

Maybe if am living alone I would spend a couple of minutes thinking and planning what to get for breakfast. :P
But as for the moment, am still staying with my parents and my mom do all the planning... lol so before I go to sleep or when I get up, I don't need to worry about what food are we having on the table...and am thankful for that though coz I know meal planning is a bit hard to do..especially when you need to have that budgeting together with the menu you intend to have.

Hi Wizzy, I never decide if or what I am going to eat before I go to bed! I empathise with your insomnia cos I suffer from it myself! I've seen me getting fed up , get out of bed and have cereal for my breakfast at 3 am! So I don't have a fixed routine at all - sorry to be do vague!

I don't think about it the night before or during the night. I get up do chores; feed the animals, settle them for the day or 5 minutes whichever comes first, use the bathroom make coffee and sit at the computer. I decide over the next minute or up to 3 hours what I will eat...if it takes longer it's brunch or lunch. It can range from toast to cereal with yoghurt to yogurt by itself, to eggs; scrambled, fried, omelette, or with bacon or beans or sausage or mushrooms on toast. Or there maybe something else yummy left over from the night before.
I'm a grown up and I can have whatever I want.

I used to be careless about planning food for the next day, sweetie. But I need to make sure that I'm giving my two little ones a proper and healthy food. I find it harder and harder to think of different menus to prepare each day. I just don't like the idea of waking up 5 in the morning and hop in to my kitchen to start cooking. What I did is to cook additional food in the evening. I can easily place it in the microwave the following day. I usually serve heavy breakfast so my girls will be mentally alert for their school. Me, I just drink coffee...I know its not healthy. But my body is use to it. :0

Well this question doesn't sound much funny, but I must say no cause we in the developing countries who are not wealthy or are not having wealthy parents don't decide what to eat the next day, cos the earns are too low to budget and put things in order. Believe me that some don't even eat breakfast. So you should know that people are different.

If you take breakfast, there still exist a possibility to choose. There may be 2 items you can eat that cost already the same.
This said, I hope you don't take my question the wrong way. I *am* aware of poverty in this world.

Because I'm on diet now. And so I'm very much particular with what I will eat before sleeping. I usually eat apple and juice, that's all. I don't take breakfast in the morning. I have my lunch at around 10:30 AM. I don;t visit the kitchen every night because it will ruin my diet plan.

Actually I am not a breakfast person at all. It happens very rarely that I even have breakfast so NO, I can not say that i am thinking about what to have before I go to sleep. Heck - I donĀ“t even plan dinners =)

Hmm no I don't because almost every other day its cereal for me, I hardly change it. I prefer to eat only that since I have lunch early. That doesn't mean I hog for lunch ...lol I am seriously watching what I eat because I seem to growing sideways ;o)Well I do decide what to make for dinner the next day, so in case I need to prep the previous day then I do it. Dinner is the only meal I cook, the other two are managed with the previous day's leftovers. Hubby comes home only for dinner so its ok..
And counting sheep, hey I do that too wiz..lol I don't think its weird because as far as I know that actually should make you sleep..and I think I've dozed off many a time but not before I reach a 100 or 200 LOL :P OK we are a set of weirdos..!

well it is never me who decides that who is going to be made in meals.... me always come into picture when a thing is prepared ready to serve and I reject it (in 95% of the cases I do...0 which really gives mom a good anger and finally she bursts out on me and I - I am running here and there to save my life..... but ya many a times , especially during the weekends(the only time we people are at home together with each other) mom makes up a program for the next day...and many a timnes it also includes the next day breakfast

Sometimes I decide what to eat the next day before I go to sleep. If I'm craving something that I have in, then I'll promise myself that I'll have it the next day. I don't tend to think of food unless I'm already hungry, so otherwise, I probably wouldn't think about it.

thats great dude.but to me i dont have any problem my love takes care of me soi dont have any need to scratch my head about my early breakfast.
ofcourse if she wasnt there i would have spent minutes to decide what to have early morning.tough its true that i wish to have a large cup of coffee other than that everything she decides and prepares as she knows my tastes
