no matter how we protect our beloved youngsters.. they really learn a lot from around them, even if the school offers the best, its still unavoidable for children to learn the other side..
my nephew lately sings the song with cruel words and he makes it as normal singing, i just listen, but its disturbing as i talk to him,he just said its what he likes to sing and its cool coz every kid in the block knows this song...
im just wondering am i alone of this surprise?
when did they love this stuffs? its like completely normal for them... are children today so much of expression that they neglect values?
anyone experience this with their child or anyone they can relate to..?

I have the same problem with my 3 year old son. He keeps on saying bad words which I believe he doesn't know the meaning yet. I keep on telling him that it is bad to say those words but he keep on saying it as if it is just a game to him. Well, I guess because he hears those words uttered most of time by some of my relatives. We really cannot totally shield them from things like this, so we just hapve to constantly tell them that those things are not proper. We as parents should never fail to teach them good thing and values and hope that they will grow as good persons.

Yes i have experienced that, and mostly i hear it a lot from the street children roaming around- i have heard them swear at each other with mch more intensity that the adults. Sometimes if they ask for alms, and you cant give them any because u just have nothing to give them, they say bad words to you!
I worked at a KUmon center before, ahd i had this very rude student- he kept on singing a sort of a rap song with veru sexually explicit lyrics and when i asked him who taught him that song- he said it was his father! can u imagine that? i dont think he does it to express himself, but because he was taught that song and this was influenced by his own dad... tsk.. tsk.. tsk...

MY 3 year old has picked up on some bad words. We ignore him if hes doing it for attention, and tell him its a bad word if he just spouts it out. He has picked up on them generally from the people in his life. His grandparents and us. Hes just a toddler though, when he gets older he will be taught that those are unacceptable words.
