How to start doing what i like instead of my regular job??

I work every day as a graphic designer, and have real problems making some real money to support my lifestyle. I like windsurfing and a lot of freestyle sports, painting, playing music and loads of other stuff. I have a problem since the type of work i do is not well payed in my country so i am stuck earning pennies for working almost whole weekdays. It is a real problem for me since my job takes away almost all my free time, but i have to do it to support myself. What do you people recommend i should do?? I have read a ton of self-help literature but none seems to really work.. Does anyone have a good advice on what i should do or maybe recommend some good self-help sites that don´t just exploit you for money?? Thank you for your replies people!
