Have you ever been mistaken for someone else (or vice versa)?

I have been. Not for famous people though. There was this one time when my hubby (still was my fiance then) and I were in this photo studio when a girl came up to me and started talking to me about someone she knew. It turned out, she has mistaken me for the sister of that person she was talking about. I was at a complete loss. LOL! She was apologetic when she realized her mistake. We've kept in touch since.
How about you? Any similar experience? Or if not, have you mistaken someone for somebody you knew? How did you handle it?

Here's a funny story, funny and sad actually and true. A couple of years ago my ex-husband stopped as he was driving and said hi. Said I looked different today, I responded that My hair was pulled back and I had sunglasses on.
He proceeded to tell me that Mitch had called looking for me, I asked quite quizically Mitch ?, and he looked at me funny and said yes. We talked for a couple of more minutes and then I said I'll be late for work gotta go.
It wasn't until I walked away and realized that that he had mistaken me for someone else. The funny thing was he thought I was Mitch's girlfriend, what's worse is I did date Mitch about 3 yrs after my divorce but they did not know each other.
I called Mitch to let him know if Bill told him he gave Eleanor the message it wasn't her it was me. He asked me how do you know Bill, I had to reply, "do you remember me telling you that my ex-husband's name was Bill. We did get a chuckle out of that.
I just told him thank god I wasn't walking down the street holding hands with my new husband, because poor Eleanor would have been in real trouble.
We all live in the same general area, and I have been mistaken for Mitch's girlfriend Eleanor on at least 3 other occassions. At least I know now so I can correct them before she gets in any trouble.

Mine is not really mistaken, ctv...but a lot of people are saying that my face looks familiar. I don't know why. I'm not exactly a party goer or hopping from one place to another. Fortunately for me, I haven't mistaken somebody that I thought I knew. If my mind had gone over the edge, I might do that...LOL!!!

many times! Often I am mistaken to be my sister, but that's my sister so it's not unusual. However I do have a bestfriend who people think is my twin. When we enter their exclusive subdivision, I used to just open the window and wave at the guards. Automatically they thought I was my bestfriend.
The funniest one of all was when I was coordinating her wedding, I was wearing a dress borrowed from her. I had to go to the ballroom and check on the set-up. Outside at the foyer were her siblings. They thought I was my bestfriend! But only for a slight moment, they realized immediately who I was. Before that, at the corridor her parents also mistook me as their daughter! haha.

Yes! I have experienced being mistaken for someone else. I was at the mall that time, trying to look for a cute pillow for my hubby. There was this young man who placed his arms on my shoulder and told me, "let's get going and look for more pillows." I was totally puzzled at that time. When we looked at each other,we both laughed and he apologized for the mistake. He was kinda ashamed of what he did.

Last week while grocery shopping, and elderly gentleman jumped out from the customer service counter, across the aisle to stop my cart. He grabbed a hold of the end and said "Hey, watch where you are going" he smirked, and I knew he was joking. I figured he must have known me, but I just could not place his face or voice. So, I asked. Do I know you? and the poor fellow was so embarrased for then he realized when I spoke that I was not the person whom he thought I was.
