Has your money disappeared in your house before?

I've left an envelope of money on my sofa the day before. I'm going for a trip and had wanted to pack the money into my bag the next day. You know what? I couldn't find the money the next day!!! It didn't fall behind the sofa and it's not anywhere in the house. I'm definite I saw the envelope half an hour before I wanted to pack it and it's missing! It could not have been stolen as there are only 2 of us in the house. Can money disappear by itself?
